The Coleman Foundation Announces First Quarter 2018 Developmental Disabilities Services Grants

In the first quarter of 2018, the Coleman Foundation approved grants totaling $331,000 to non-profit organizations to advance its Developmental Disabilities Impact Plan. Among those receiving grants in this program area are:

 

Envision Unlimited, IL

$160,000 – Envision-Neumann Merger: Technology Integration Project

The award is to support the integration of accounting and information technology software, hardware and operating systems following the recent merger of Envision Unlimited and Neumann Family Services.  As a merger is the ultimate form of collaboration, this award is the implementation of Impact Plan strategy #5 to “fund collaborative programs which include multiple grantees.”

 

Have Dreams, IL

$171,000 – Have Dreams Academy Cluster Model

The award is to replicate a workforce training program for adults with autism to support them in developing skills for successful competitive employment in light manufacturing environments.  The expansion of the cluster model will establish multiple Have Dreams Academy internships within a light-manufacturing or office park environments, exemplifying Impact Plan strategy #3 to “fund efforts to expand job opportunities and prepare individuals for workplace success.”
